As many of you will know, some of you may not, my sister and her partner Welcomed their third child into the world, Poppy-Rose, in September 2016 just over 7 weeks early. Poppy was born with a very rare genetic skin condition called Harlequin Ichthyosis, so rare in fact that there is a 1 in 300,000 chance of having a child with Harlequin Ichthyosis, only 2 people a year in the UK are born with it and I believe that Poppy-Rose is Newcross hospitals first baby with the rare condition. After nearly 7 long weeks of Poppy being in hospital, she was finally aloud to go home on 3.11.16. Today, 4.11.16, My sister and her partners car once again decided that it was going to have a bother fault this morning, however, after spending hundreds of pounds on it already being on its way out, they can no longer afford to keep repairing it. They NEED a car as Poppy with have many appointments between newcross and Birmingham children's hospital, doctors as well as taking their other two children to school and childcare. Something else that adds to their long list of worries.Poppy's condition means that she can not regulate her body temperature and she is very prone to infection along with a long list of other things, making cold and hot weather and public transport dangerous while she is so little. I am hoping to raise at least £500 to help put towards a new car for them so that they can make important appointments with Poppy-Rose with less worry, a car is now essential to have for the family.
