Story
As you are all aware, we suffered a late miscarriage at 20 weeks and our daughter Lottie was born at 3.30am on 3.09.16 and unfortunately after a 3 hour fight died at 6.30am.
A great number of you have asked if you can support us in anyway over the coming weeks, with the registration of birth and death right through to attending the funeral with us. Honestly, we are completely overwhelmed. We have made the decision to attend Lottie’s funeral as a couple. However, we thought that as a gesture to the hospital and the support we have had over the past few days and the support we will have going forward, that we would raise some funds to donate to the maternity ward to enable them to open a second bereavement suite.
As hard as it is to accept that these rooms are needed, they are absolutely a necessity, we were only there for 48 hours, but some families are there for 7 days or more. There are so many situations, which occur in the ward that require the use of the room; there are no doubt times when families in need, collide. It is a great facility and with some help from our friends and family we are sure we can help the midwives create another superb environment for bereaved families.
