Louis’ Story

Dear Louis, life was never meant for someone as beautiful as you.

Following the sudden and tragic loss of our wonderful father, grandfather, son, brother, partner, uncle and friend on 12th December 2020, we are left utterly devastated, uncertain of how life will look from here on in.

It is incredibly hard to find the words for what Louis meant to everyone. At only 40, he was our fearless protector, but was also the kindest, gentlest, funniest, silliest, and most caring person most have ever known. We cannot begin to imagine life without him; there will forever be a huge hole in hearts.

He was like a light entering any room – one which you didn’t know you needed until you felt the sunshine that he brought. He provided love and support to everyone around him, and made them feel safe and protected. We will miss his laugh, his unconditional love and his strength.

The family were never able to say goodbye as they would wish, and in the way that Louis’ tremendous soul deserved, so please help us to honour him together and ensure his family are cared for. He was there for his kids unconditionally and with them at every opportunity – they were his world, and he theirs.

What are we asking for help with?

We are in need of help to cover living costs over and far beyond Christmas, for his 5 dependent children and grandchild. We cannot underestimate the time that our family will need to take to grieve and to contemplate how to manage going forward without him. His children will need a great deal of emotional support, and as a now lone parent, their mother will need financial support in order that she can be around for them in the difficult times ahead. As Louis shared so much of the childcare with both parents working, this will inevitably be an incredibly demanding time for the rest of the family juggling the children's emotional needs with the financial need to be earning.

Who will ensure the funds go to where they are needed?

Louis’ mum, daughter and partner will be managing any donations gratefully received and ensuring the kids have everything they need at this time of emotional and financial hardship.

We cannot thank everyone enough for their ongoing support, kindness and any donations they are able to make. No donation is too small, we really appreciate anything you feel able to spare, it means the world to all of us and will make a huge difference for Louis’ beautiful children and grandchild.
