50 Shades of Halifax is a very active Facebook community group, serving the whole borough of Calderdale from Shelf to Ripponden, Todmorden to Mixenden, Brighouse and all of the areas in-between.
At the very heart of the 42,000 members, there is a team of people who devote their time 24/7, to an online community which has grown steadily since 2016.
As a community we have always been strong, always supported each other online, through the fun times, the bad times, the sunny times, the snow times, and the really strange times.

Covid has had a great bearing on our community, and it became very apparent when child food poverty and 'free school meals' was brought to the fore in the media. However, it has highlighted that the impact of Covid doesn't just start with our children in Calderdale, it goes much deeper.

Within our community are a number of charities, non-profits and projects at the front line who are working tirelessly to support each and every vulnerable member of our society. These voluntary groups of people are supporting our community with a huge range of services from delivering food parcels, to rehabilitation counseling.
So these groups can benefit from our fundraising we will be working with "Community Foundation For Calderdale" with the aim of distributing our funds fairly through them.

It is now time for us to come together in a very real way. Something which is a first in our four year history. Our local community organisations are under huge pressure and are working tirelessly, especially on the run up to Christmas. We would like to support them as a thankyou for supporting us in our hours of need.
