Story

****** Hi all and thank you so so much for the generous donations I’ve received so far, I really do appreciate it. Unfortunately, the Birmingham Walkathon has been postponed due to lack of engagement, and they are looking to reschedule it in Spring of next year.

If you are happy for me to keep hold of your donation until then then it is kept safely in my justgiving account, however if you would prefer the money back then please do let me know and I’m sure it will be no problem to do this. There were a few anonymous donors so if this was you and you would like your donation back please DM me on Facebook. As soon as the new date is rearranged I’ll post an update on here and FB. Thanks again everyone 💜 ******

On 11th September, I will be taking part in the Birmingham Walkathon, pounding the pavements for 26 miles armed only with two of my best pals and a rucksack full of Haribo Tangfastics (and possibly some M&S cans of gin & tonic for hydration purposes). If you know me, you will know I am most definitely NOT the sporty type so this will be quite a challenge for me!!

The Walkathon raises money for Walk4Harry, the charity set up in memory of local lad Harry Moseley and I will be making a donation to that charity myself to take part in the walk. However, I am asking for donations for a small, local charity called Petal's Friends which is run by a lovely lady called Jo, who stays up until ridiculous hours of the morning to try to capture stray cats so that they can then be neutered and rehomed. She also deals with any medical care that the cats may need.

Petal's Friends isn't a registered charity so relies completely on donations from her followers on Facebook, more often than not I suspect making up any shortcomings in vet/food bills etc herself. Any donations I receive will be transferred directly to Jo's Paypal - a link to her Facebook page is below, if you would like to read more about what she does and she is very transparent about what she spends any donations on.

I really hope you will sponsor me for this worthwhile cause. Thank you!
