Story
At 26 weeks pregnant due to complications, our son was born via emergency caeserean section under general anaesthetic. From 13.5.16 to 7.9.16 we spent 17 weeks in hospital before we got to take him home. We spent this time in 2 hospitals, where both sets of staff were outstanding and amazing in how they cared for us as a family especially as parents for the first time. The staff were there from the toughest and scary times through to happy times when there was progress especially closer to getting to going home. The staff were there for every emotion anger, frustration, scared and happy each one meant we were crying. We could never thank them enough.
Recently the media has been negative about neonatal care. I don't feel this is correctly reported as there are so many premature babies and so many positive stories.
I want to raise money for the small essentials such tiny nappies, breast feeding equipment to sterilisers. Comfy chairs for skin to skin and sensory toys for when the babies are bigger.
