I've become a manager at Little Meadows residential home which is a private care establishment that provides care to people over the age of 65 with residential care needs. It isn't part of a big group or even a group at all, it's a private establishment, we don't get funded days out and only have so much money in the pot to do day to day activities.I am raising funds for the clients comfort fund to enable them to have the funds to be able to go on a day out somewhere of their choice...the seaside, the zoo or even the local pub for lunch. Myself and 5 other staff members are doing a 8k walk on the 5th October from the home to westport lake and back again. Those who know me well know I don't walk anywhere nowadays so it's going to be tough on me.
