Story
Hi, I've recently returned from a visit to Gambia where I met some truly inspirational people, children who struggle to get an education as their families cannot afford to send them to school, something I am sure you will agree in this day and age should not be happening. One girl I met, Amie, stood out to me as she did get the opportunity to attend high school and did extremely well in her final tests, and would love to have the opportunity to continue her education and become a teacher. A lot of the teachers at the schools in Gambia do not even know English yet are teaching it to children and marking work as incorrect even though it is in fact correct, how are these children meant to learn? I spoke to Amie and her English and knowledge of the language and grammar is amazing, for her to continue and complete her eduction would cost somewhere in the region of £400 and with this she could go on and do some good in a country that doesn't seem to have a lot of good in it. Please help me help Amie

I'm Louise and I feel so strongly about this young girl getting the education she deserves that I've set this page up! Why should some children get an education and poor children shouldn't???
