I’ve recently been offered a place on the British Sign Language (BSL) Level 3 Course in Bristol! Access to learning sign language is a huge privelege in the UK, it’s expensive and timely. Although many may think I can already sign because my parents are deaf, my sign language needs improving, particularly if I want to use British sign language in professions in the future. I would love to work on sets and in shows alongside deaf creators, and be able to better communicate with my deaf audiences, so it’s vital I improve my sign language to better my skills. Right now I can start learning my Level 3 this october, but if I do not raise the funds in time, I will have to postpone sign language classes until I have the money in the future. Creating this crowdfunder feels like a starting point for me and any money raised will fund the course, accomodation and travel expenses to Britsol for the next 10 Months. I will share what i’m learning in class on my tiktok and hopefully inspire some of you, if you haven’t already, to learn sign language too!
