Story
We are Megan & Gavin Higgs and on 24th June 2018 our daughter Rosie was born sleeping at 25 weeks gestation. Our world was turned upside down. Since being on this journey we have learnt a lot and found ways that we would like to help provide services to parents in similar situations to our own.
We are aiming to raise money to support other bereaved parents who‘s babies were stillborn or passed away shortly after birth.
On 24th June this year we will be climbing Ben Nevis to mark Rosie‘s first Birthday. We are also in the early planning stages of many other fundraising projects this year.
Donations will be used to improve the care of bereaved parents whilst in hospital and upon discharge. We want to help families make memories with their babies and also help support them when they leave hospital and begin their new “normal”. Donations will be used to provide specially made premature baby clothes, books to help parents and siblings in their grief, wash kits for parents when they have no time to pack a bag for the hospital and much much more. Initially, donations of the clothes, wash kits etc will be donated to our local hospital where Rosie was born.
Gavin and I want to say a huge thank you for all of your support, it means everything to us and we can’t wait to start making a difference to other bereaved parents. Please visit our website to read Rosie's story and see our long term aims.
