Story

Cora is everything that is beautiful about the world; she is thoughtful, strong, brave, positive, kind, caring and forgiving. This spring, just before she turned six, Cora was diagnosed with a brain tumour after an emergency visit to our local hospital, Watford General Hospital. She was quickly transferred to Great Ormond Street Hospital in London.

This photo was taken a few days after we got home from Cora’s first brain surgery to address hydrocephalus. While Cora’s tumour cannot be safely removed, it is treatable and she is currently going through chemotherapy. We are grateful for the care Cora continues to receive at Great Ormond Street Hospital and the shared care at Watford's Starfish (children's) Ward. Each time a complication arises, we return to Starfish Ward at Watford and have begun to know the oncology and nursing teams well.

Cora has decided that she wants to raise funds to support Starfish Ward at Watford Hospital. Life has given her lemons and she is already busy making lemonade! Quite literally. She has wanted to have a lemonade stand for some time and is looking forward to making it a reality on the 4th of August. For those who can't come by and try Cora's homemade American-style lemonade, we have set up this Just Giving page. She is very keen to raise funds to make Starfish Ward even better for all the kids in our area who may, like her, visit and stay on the ward.

Thank you for supporting Cora's dream of "Lovely Lemonade" and the Starfish Children's Ward at Watford General Hospital!
