Ukrainian pilots are dying on a regular basis because they are fighting a strong enemy and lack the essential flying equipment that could keep them alive following ejection. The most critical shortage is of Life Saving Jackets (LSJs) that would help a pilot survive if ejecting into water. Below (discretion advised) is a genuine photograph of an injured Ukrainian pilot descending in his parachute having been shot down and ejected.

We know of two Ukrainian pilots who drowned due to lack of high quality LSJ. Yet this could have been avoided since we have such critical high-quality equipment available in the UK. Normally costing £3000 each, we have identified 177 unused, surplus LSJs available at a cost of £225 each. Each could save a life which might otherwise be lost.

So, we have set up an initiative called 'Loyal Wingman' and aim to raise the £40,000 needed to buy then donate the 177 Life Saving Jackets to the Ukrainian Air Force. We know some of the pilots personally and we know that they need these LSJs very urgently.
