Story

Could you swim 2.4 miles, cycle 112 miles and then run 26 miles?

On 18th August in Copenhagen, London Philharmonic Orchestra cellist Gregory Walmsley will do exactly that in an Ironman Challenge in support of the Orchestra’s BrightSparks concerts.

BrightSparks concerts offer the opportunity for 10,000 school children to hear a live symphony orchestra every year … most for the first time in their lives.

Greg's introduction to classical music was the Scherzo from Dvorak's 8th Symphony. He was inspired to learn the cello by the second movement of Elgar's Cello Concerto and winds down listening to Bach's Prelude from the Suite in G major.

Please help Greg, the London Philharmonic Orchestra and BrightSparks to bring live classical music to young people for the first time.
