Back in early July of 2016 we received the upsetting news that a dear friend had a mountain bike accident with a suspected spinal injury. As the days progressed the results came that the injury would be a life changer, meaning there is a only a small chance of being able to use his legs again. Heartbreaking!

Since these early day he has shown such bravery, determination and strength with making his life a happy one! He's an incredible friend, son and more importantly husband to his amazingly supportive, caring and most of all, inspirational wife.

After his accident back in the October of 2016 a group of his closest friends have decided to embark on a bit of challenge and cycle from London to Paris in 24 hours. 7 out of 9 'cyclist' didn’t own a bike...yet, let alone ever cycled on a road bike, with only 12 weeks to train. After just over 24 hours, numerous amounts of miles across those steady long French hills, not forgetting getting lost in the centre of Paris, we reached the Eiffel Tower.

Le Tour De Marsh was born

The reason we are did this is simple. We needed to raise as much money possible to help this wonderful couple fund the adaption of their beautiful country cottage into a comfortable house our dear friend can continue to enjoy for the rest of his life. After months of being in hospital we wanted to send him back to his home.

Since then adaptions have started and planning permission has been permitted. We are committed to keep raising money for this wonderful couple and help Steve live his life and to enjoy and be able to do all the things he loved and loves doing before this life changing accident. As a full time wheelchair user he needed specialist equipment in order to do this and we would love to help make these amazing things accessible for him.

We have set up this ongoing LTDM page as since the ‘big ride’ more friends and family are embarking on more challenges to help make these things possible, so keep an eye on the LTDM instagram & facebook pages.

Upcoming: 50km . 17 hours. One Mother & Daughter.

We have 17 hours to trek across the Peak District in Derbyshire across hills, mountains & farmland to cover a total of 50km, 32miles in order to raise money for the LDTM. We will be trekking from the early hours into the dark of the night and climbing up the highest peak. Wish us luck!!

Please give what ever you can, I know we hear it time and time again that every penny counts, but it really does. This couple are two of the most caring, generous and loving people I know, its about time we gave them something back in their time of need.
