On the 29th January myself and other students are attending a 2 week trip to Goa, India to work with the charitable organisation Novi Survat. We will be working closely with the school and the children that attend it.
The charity provide the children with travel to and from the school, a hot meal and resources to use whilst learning. The aim of the school is to teach the children life long skills that will better their chances of employment to improve their adult lives.
To allow the children to feel comfortable whilst learning, we will be re decorating the school, making it modern and exciting for them to attend. The new equipment will also provide them with new aspects of learning to widen their knowledge and future.
The charity also provide for a care home caring for children with HIV/AIDS. They provide them with medical staff, medication and a warming environment to safely live in.
The money fund-raised will be taken with us to shop for new, beneficial learning toys and equipment, to take the children on trips to the beach and also out for meals. These are experiences that the majority of children in Goa may never experience, but ones that are will be forever grateful for the time and effort taken place throughout our stay.
