I have joined the India Project at the University of Leeds, working with the Snehalaya organisation. My involvement in this will include raising a minimum of £400 to support the charity directly, and two weeks of voluntary work in the Easter break of 2017 where I will go to India and help with the projects that are set up there.
I will be hosting some fund-raising events too if you want to get involved and not simply 'just give.' I will keep this posted on my facebook page so please get involved!

The charity Snehalaya works in India to provide healthcare, education, rehabilitation and awareness to all women and children who have been affected by poverty, sex trafficking, sex abuse, HIV and AIDS.
Their work so far includes:

REHABILITATION $330,000 - 60 infants, 300 children, 440 women and girls, 580 child abuse interventions, 33 farm residents

EDUCATION $84,000 - 420 pupils in education, 700 students learning in our slum drop ins
​
HEALTHCARE $128,500 - 1230 HIV patients supported, 2170 sex workers and performers given access to healthcare clinics
​
AWARENESS $37,500 400,000 listeners to our community radio station, 600 places at our youth conferences
