Story
In 2015 I was diagnosed with an anaplastic astrocytoma(grade 3 brain tumour) when I was 26 weeks pregnant. At 30 weeks they delivered my son by c-section in the morning (at a healthy 3lbs 4.5oz)and I had an operation to remove the tumour that afternoon. He was little but he was a fighter and now we both had a fight on our hands. He stayed in the NICU for 9 weeks and then came with me everyday while I had my radiotherapy.

I was given gliadel wafers during the surgery followed by radiotherapy and chemotherapy tablets and couldn't touch my newborn son without gloves because of the chemo used during my surgery.

In October 2017 another growth was found on my MRI scan and I had a second operation in December of that year. My most recent scan was in January 2019 and they have found another small growth. At the moment the oncologist is planning to give me 2 six week chemotherapy treatments and re-scan to see if it has grown any more. I am very lucky to have the most amazing supportive husband who has been by my side through everything. He is my rock and any time we get the dreaded bad news he's always there to say I know it's not what we wanted to hear, but we'll get through it together.

While I’ve been waiting to start my treatment I have been doing research on anything and everything that could possibly help me. I have found some options such as a clinic in London that offers medication to go along with chemo and also a cancer research facility that genetically tests biopsy samples to figure out what treatment each person’s individual sample will respond to. However, because these alternative treatments are not funded by the NHS they are very expensive and I would like to raise money to help me to be able to afford these treatments as well as any travel and medication I may need.

I am 33 years old with a husband and 5 children and I would do anything within my power to fight this as much as I possibly can and I would appreciate any support that anyone is willing to give me.
