Story

Early on October 28th Lucy and Callum were involved in a serious car accident near Bristol Airport. Lucy sustained very serious injuries and has been in a medically-induced coma since the crash; for a time we feared we'd lose her.

She received multiple injuries but of particular concern was damage to her right arm. Lucy was taken into theatre and operated on for 13 hours. The surgeons were able to save her life and battled to save her arm, and we pay a great tribute to them and the other hospital staff who have been outstanding.

Unfortunately we got the sad news yesterday that Lucy will lose her right arm above the elbow. This is obviously devastating and will be life-changing, as anyone who knows Lucy knows how dedicated she is to driving HGVs and how much joy it brings her. It's especially heartbreaking to share this news on her birthday.

Callum’s injuries were less severe and he is on the mend, but has a broken scapula and is still in a lot of pain. He will be staying in hospital for a while.

Looking forward to Lucy and Callum’s future, we have decided to set up a crowdfund to help with Lucy’s anticipated needs and help with her loss of earnings. What we'd really like is to help her through her recovery with the hope that she'll be able to drive again through physio, prosthetics and modifications to her truck and that’s what we’re raising money towards. We would be incredibly grateful for any amount you can donate.
