Story

We are trying to raise £16,000.00 to buy Imogen an all-terrain wheelchair which will allow her and us as a family to access so much more of the amazing countryside, beaches and moors that are right on our doorstep where we live in Devon.

Imogen is almost 11years old, has Cerebral Palsy and is a full-time powered chair user. She’s a very happy, bubbly girl who always has a smile, despite all the trials that life throws at her. She loves animals (particularly her pet Guinea Pigs) and Strictly Come Dancing! She enjoys spending time with her friends and big sister Holly. As she grows up and inevitably gets bigger, it becomes more and more difficult to get around and join in with the sort of activities that most people take for granted. Just crossing the road can be a challenge if there are no dropped kerbs! We as a family love to have days out but these tend to be restricted to attractions etc that are always very busy and expensive. It would be life-changing for us to just go for a walk in the countryside and not have to stick to the roads and pavements or to walk on the sand at the beach and look in the rock pools etc.

The Extreme X8 wheelchair will allow Imogen to access everything I’ve mentioned above and more. We are also planning to have it adapted so she will have the specialist seating she needs to keep her hips and spine straight and allow for growth.

We are planning lots of different activities to raise the money so this page is just the first step! Please donate what you can, every little helps and we’re all so grateful.
