Story

There has been a a “huge rise” in the number of mental health conditions, which has coincided with cuts to mental health services and psychotherapy posts in many parts of the country.

The consequent delays in accessing treatment can be disastrous for patients, the report from the We Need to Talk coalition warns. In a survey of 2,000 patients, one in six said they had attempted suicide while waiting for treatment, four in 10 said they had self-harmed, and two thirds said their condition had deteriorated before they had a chance to see a mental health professional.

We want to raise funds to be able to provide free counselling services to clients in the Worcestershire and Warwickshire areas. Clients will be experiencing suicidal ideations and currently be on a waiting list waiting for treatment through the NHS or other mental health services.

Clients will be provided with regular one to one counselling sessions to provide a safe place for them to explore their thoughts and feelings. Sessions will be paid for through the crowdfunding fundraising budget so we can provide more access to counselling and support services to those who need it, when they need it.

Please donate generously - every session costs £35.00 so by reaching this target it will enable us to provide 29 hours 286 hours of therapy.

If you know anyone who needs access to these services please self-refer through www.lucyshepherdcounselling.com
