Story

On Sunday 30th July, I will be cycling seemingly endless miles around London, Surrey and beyond as part of Ride London (100 miles or 161kms!!). Having run 3 London marathons, and loved (almost) every step, I have swapped trainers for cleats and will have a go on the bike. This is a new challenge for me, and an opportunity to raise some support to fund 2 additional Watipa scholarships this year.

We launched the Watipa scholarships last year (2016) to support disadvantaged young people with their education. The young people are under 25 years old, and are leaders determined to out their education to good use for the betterment of their communities as well as of themselves.

Last year we supported 36 young people in 8 countries (Kenya, Ghana, Malawi, Democratic Republic of Congo, Nepal, South Africa, Tanzania and Uganda). In 2017, we would like to double the number of scholarships we can provide. By raising £800, we will be able to fund an additional 2 scholarships this year....100% of the donations we receive go directly to the scholarships.

Watipa is a registered Charity (1173178) and Community Interest Company (10226833) in England and Wales.

Thank you for your support!
