Story
On 3rd January 2024 waters from the River Lugg entered our two churches - St Mary the Virgin, Marden and St Michael & All Angels, Bodenham. The Lugg recorded its highest ever level following this storm.
Both churches have suffered damage to their floors - Bodenham’s wooden flooring is almost beyond repair and the water running through Marden Church has left much mud behind.
Both churches have flooded a number of times since autumn 2019 and flood resilience work has taken place - including the installation of a pump at Bodenham which reduced the water levels inside the church. However funds are required to clear up the church buildings and bring them back into a usable state.
Can you help us return these much-loved community buildings back to use ; that they may, once more, be places of welcome and encounter?
Any funds raised will be divided equally between the two churches.
