Story

In January 2017 my little dog was diagnosed with an incurable condition called Glaucoma. Glaucoma is a condition in which pressure is placed on the eye, causing inadequate fluid drainage in the eye. If the condition becomes chronic or persists without treatment, it will eventually cause permanent damage to the optic nerve, resulting in blindness.

This meant that the future of my dog was written. He was going to be blind Wether I accept it or not. At first I didn’t want to believe that my always healthy and very well looked after dog was going to be blind for the rest of his life. He was just 6 years old.

His left eye was the first one to be removed. He recovered very well and we kept our hopes that the remaining eye would stay healthy for more years but couldn’t be more wrong. Just after 7 months his right eye got affected and had also to be removed.

His new life in the darkness had started. At the beginning It wasn’t easy for any of us but with all our love and patience Luigi moved on and learned his way through the house and even learned how to play.

He has definitely tough me how to persevere, how to keep going despite all adversities and misfortunes.

I am running for him as I believe he is a little warrior and he deserves to recover his old life. I’m raising money to pay for a trainer that can teach him how to walk again on a leash and go up and down the stairs.

I will keep updating and posting for every completed race during this year and let you know when I bring Luigi to the trainer.

Thank you
