Story

On the 4th August 2024, I am running York 10K - my longest organised run to date and a major personal milestone in my running journey. Over the past 4 years, I've transformed from someone who was unfit and afraid of exercise to someone who has embraced a new lifestyle and invested in her mental and physical health in a truly transformational way; an achievement I hope to celebrate with this run!

Aside from my own personal journey, I also want to use this run to celebrate the journey of another person who is extremely close to my heart and their milestone of a decade of sobriety, recovery and personal growth. In my life, I am fortunate and forever grateful to be surrounded by such an inspirational woman who, despite all adversities, strives for betterment in every way. Therefore, I am asking for donations towards the Women & Girl's Alliance Leeds - an alliance of charities have provided support and services to my family; as well as other women and girls in Leeds.

The organisations in the alliance span a wide range of specialisms including health, domestic violence support, youth work, education and training, and more. They work to provide support services to women and girls in need. You can find out more about the organisations in the alliance here.

Thank you for supporting my fundraising. All proceeds will go to funding the fantastic work that the Women & Girl's Alliance Leeds do to support marginalised and at risk women and young people.
