I've raised £850 to support the visit to the Jesuit mission in Kyrgyzstan.

Living in Europe can make one oblivious to what is behind the borders.
Especially for young people, whose attention tends to focus on anything, but looking inwards. I come acroos this all the time, being a teenager myself. I find it really easy to forget what it is like in other parts of the world.
I am not sure, whether I can forget a place I have never been to, which is why I applied for the placement with the Jesuit missions
It can be difficult to get a full picture of what it actually feels like in such a place. That is why I applied for a volunteer placement at the Jesuit missions in Kyrgyzstan.
To raise the funds, I have decided to do a pilgrimage between 20.-24 May, walking 180km on foot from Winchester to Canterbury to the shrine of St Thomas Becket.
Pilgrim's way is an ancient route, and I hope it might prepare me for what is to come in the summer. The walk consists of multiple roads connected together. The first bit is a 50 mile stretch from Winchester to Farnham, a small city south of London, which then joins a footpath called North Downs Way, which goes through Canterbury all the way to Dover.
By doing this, I hope not only to raise some money, but also to have some time off and have a proper pilgrimage.
With your help I will be able to afford my flight tickets and vaccines, without which I will not be able to go to Kyrgyzstan.
Thank you for your help!
