In the summer of 2018 myself and a few lucky others have the opportunity to travel to the Fiji islands with the charity Think Pacific. Our aim, is to provide support for the underprivileged communities scattered all over Fiji. This will range from financial support, with the money we raise being used to re-build housing and teaching facilities, providing much needed teaching resources and establishing systems to provide these families with the food and water they need to survive. However it isn't limited to financial support, we hope to provided emotional support for the younger half of these communities who lack both a proper education and the companionship they deserve. This will come through teaching them english, maths and science as well as sport in the afternoons helping to improve their cognitive and social skills.

It is not well known but 1/3 children in Fiji live below the poverty line, whilst 75% of children do not have access to fresh water or proper sanitation. These astounding figures help provide us with a glimpse into the challenges these people face everyday, which are easy to overlook because we do not see or experience them ourselves. Moreover it is our hope that the positive impacts of this trip will not end when we leave after a month but that our efforts and your donations will spread the word of this great cause and inspire others to continue supporting the people of Fiji!

My aim is to raise £2000. £1100 of this will go directly to the ThinkPacific Foundation, which is responsible for the construction of living facilities and infrastructure around Fiji. The remaining £900 will be to pay for my flights / vaccinations / insurance. I am running a 12 mile Tough Mudder on the 28th April to help raise this money. As I mentioned earlier this money will not only provide long term support for a great deal of people all over Fiji but also will be used to provide school resources, sports equipment, books, stationary and much much more.
