Story
My name is Luke and I am 22.
I am in my final year at Sheiling College in Ringwood. This term I will be completing my Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award and volunteering is an important part of the Award. I am very proud to say that I have been a life-long volunteer collector and supporter of the RNLI.
I have decided to raise funds for RNLI Mudeford Lifeboat & RNLI Mudeford Fundraising Group by undertaking a series of supported walks during my summer term at college.
Last year I was very proud to be invited to the RNLI 200 Year Anniversary Garden Party at Buckingham Palace in recognition of my volunteering.
Although I have Down’s Syndrome, Autism, mobility difficulties and communicate through spelling, I have not let my diagnosis get in the way of helping. I think the RNLI are so brave to do what they do. When I leave college, I want to continue my volunteering.
If you can help me in my fundraising efforts, I would be very grateful.
Love from Luke xxx
