Story

Thank you for visiting our JustGiving page.

We are the University of Liverpool Sub-Aqua Club (LUSAC).

About the event:

We will be completing a 12-hour Diveathon fundraising event – on the 9th of May 2026 from 09:00-21:00 – to raise funds for Trearddur Bay RNLI. During the Diveathon, a minimum of two divers will remain in the water collecting litter, photographing wildlife, and completing dive management and experience lessons. We believe that this is the first event of its kind in UK seas.

About Trearddur Bay Lifeboat Station:

Trearddur Bay Lifeboat Station is a pillar of the local community which has existed for over 50 years. They put themselves at risk to save dozens of lives a year. However, unfortunately the RNLI do not receive government funding and rely on donations to keep them afloat.

About us – LUSAC:

We, LUSAC, are “frequent water users, especially in the Trearddur Bay area. [Thereby,] our club is incredibly appreciative of the work the RNLI does to protect and support those using the water” says Kira D’Arcy, President of LUSAC. “It’s incredibly reassuring knowing such an incredible service would be available to us if we ever needed it.”

Our club is one of the most active university dive clubs in the UK. Furthermore, we are a student-led group that provide raining and dive trips for members that range from total novices to experienced divers. Moreover, as with the RNLI, we rely entirely on the work of volunteers and understand the importance of active fundraising.

Thank you so much for donating to our cause and helping the RNLI :)
