We are raising £3000 to purchase and install a defibrillator at the Pavillion on Lutterworth Recreation ground.

To do this we are planning as a club to run for 24 hours around Lutterworth on the weekend of 19/20 September.

Whilst we hope the defibrillator is never needed, being within 4 mins of one can significantly increase the chances of a person surviving a cardiac arrest. Survival changes reduce by 10% for every minute that passes without medical intervention. 30,000 people have an out of hospital cardiac arrest in the UK every year. Defibrillators are currently used in less than 1 in 20 cardiac arrests.

The recreation ground is used by dog walkers, families and is the site for the annual fairs. In addition events are regularly held at the Pavillion and the recreation ground is home to the Lutterworth Scouts, the Bowls club, as well as the Community Policing office making this an ideal location.

If we raise sufficient funds we will purchase and install a second defibrillator in Lutterworth with any surplus funds going to Lutterworth Community First Responders who provide emergency response working directly with the East Midlands Ambulance Service .
