I'm raising £1000 to support the Lowestoft War Memorial Museum

Story

Opened in May 1995 thanks to the efforts of local historian Jack Rose the Lowestoft war memorial museum with our dedicated chapel was the realisation of Jack's long term dream of a memorial to the men, women and children of the town who died during the second world war.

As many of you already know our new landlords Lowestoft town council are not renewing the lease so we are in the final stages of relocating the museum and chapel into our the property currently used to hold our extensive archive. Used by the Kings Own Scottish Borderers regiment in WW2, this will create opportunities for accessing the home front collection in a more domestic setting with our first living history event planned for September.

Although most of the relocation has now been completed there is still lots to do and skip and van hire is expensive. I'm currently raising £1,000 to help keep Jack's dream alive.
