All Aboarders, a local community group, is seeking to raise the final £2000 of £24,000 for a creative project to celebrate100 years of Welwyn Garden City Railway Station. A bronze statue of wellington boots by local sculptor Ben Twisten-Davies will be a permanent reminder of the early days of Welwyn Garden City when city gents in wellington boots used to trudge through muddy fields to the station and collect their boots when returning home in the evening. This was depicted in a Punch Cartoon called "Mud Modes".

You can help this happen. We would be very grateful for any donation.
