Give the gift of Education: The Lynde Francis Trust

In Zimbabwe, an education is not a guarantee.

It’s a privilege that many children simply cannot afford. Within the 700 disadvantaged families supported by the Lynde Francis Trust, countless children face the heartbreaking reality of having to drop out of school due to overwhelming financial burdens. This is a story about their struggle, their dreams, and your opportunity to make a difference through the newly established Education Support Fund.

The Challenge:

Every year, increasing school and exam fees push teenagers out of the classroom and into the workforce. Even those who persevere to O Levels find themselves unable to pay fees to take their exams, forcing them to leave school when they are so close to achieving their goals. Families trying to manage the basics often find it impossible to cover the additional costs of uniforms, shoes, and school supplies. Tragically, many children walk up to 15 kilometers to school in flip-flops or sandals, determined to receive an education despite the odds stacked against them.

The Solution:

The Education Support Fund aims to provide essential financial support for school fees, exam fees, uniforms, school materials, and other needs not covered by private sponsors. This fund is designed to ensure that children who have managed to enroll in school can stay there and thrive, paving the way for a brighter future.

We're thrilled to announce that the fund has started with a generous contribution of 2,400 Euros from Ivor John Jones, a renowned artist living in France. Through an art exhibition, supported by the facilitators from Planche et Plonk, Mr. Jones raised funds by donating the commission from his exhibition to the Lynde Francis Trust.

Our Vision:

The Education Support Fund’s mission is clear: support the children already enrolled in school and enable more children to enter the program. Many of the currently sponsored students aspire to attend university or vocational training, yet without financial assistance, their dreams remain out of reach.

By raising enough funds to support the children already in the program, we aim to expand our reach, giving even more children the opportunity to pursue an education that can transform their futures.

How You Can Help:

1. Donate: Your financial contributions are critical. A donation of just $10 can help provide shoes for a child, while $100 can cover essential school supplies for a student for an entire term.

2. Spread the Word: Share our mission with your network. Awareness is key to expanding our support base and reaching more people who can help.

3. Host an Event: Organize a local fundraising event, art exhibition, or community gathering to raise both funds and awareness for the Education Support Fund.

4. Become a Sponsor: Consider sponsoring a child’s education directly or through our organization to make a lasting impact.

Our Commitment:

The Lynde Francis Trust pledges transparency and accountability. We will keep our donors updated on how their contributions are utilized, sharing success stories and ongoing developments in the lives of the children we support.

Your support can rewrite the stories of these children. Together, we can ensure that education remains a possibility, not a privilege, for the children of Zimbabwe. Help us empower young minds and create pathways for future success.

Join us in our mission to transform lives through education. Donate today and make a lasting impact!
