My mum lost contact with her dad at around the age of 6 back in 1960ish due to family breakdown over the years I have been trying to find him but with not much information other than his name rough age and in was in the navy you can imagine this was to prove difficult yet I could never give up knowing that my mum needed to find the missing puzzle so for years i have searched family trees put links out all over the place with family in different countries ..eventually through my heritage I searched and a name came out so thought what have I got to lose
We believed my granddad may have died before we found him so I got to work to write out a message explaining who I was
About 3 weeks later when I had pretty much given up I received a response
Wow just wow the lady was indeed my mums half sister and better still her dad was still alive
So this year will mark my mums 70th and her dads 90th something I never believed would happen
My granddad lives in Western Australia and we are of course in the UK so my aim is to get my mum over to meet her dad and sister however due to the costs asking for a little help
I will certainly be working extra and cutting back on my beloved holidays to make this dream happen unfortunately due to everyone's age time is not our friend so sooner rather than later
