What is crowdfunding?
Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.

Story
We are raising funds to help finance our Christmas Day meal for the lonely, less fortunate and homeless in the Kirklees/Leeds/Huddersfield/Wakefield areas. The money will go towards food, food hampers, toiletries, transport costs to get people to and from the venue and food vouchers to help those less fortunate over the festive period.
Christmas is a time when families meet and celebrate but for some people it is the loneliest and hardest time of the year. We want to make this Christmas a year that everyone can remember that they weren't lonely or left out. We are all one payday away from being homeless, struggling with bills and providing meals. Let's try and make this an extra special year for everyone and help us all remember what this time of year is all about.

A million thanks from us all. we have now formed a community group and hope to be able to do more events throughout the year to help the homeless, lonely and low income groups around Dewsbury.

We would like to thank all who have donated so generously to this cause, today we will have to close the page down so as to receive the funds in time for the day. Thanks to you the homeless and lonely will have something to cheer them up on what is the loneliest day of the year for many people. So thank you for all your help and here's to next year.
