Story
It is a well known fact that Kenyan distance runners are amongst the best athletes in the world. What is not so well known is that invariably the prize money that they win is often donated to their local areas to improve vital services such us health and education. The cream of Kenyan distance runners are able to travel the world racing representing their country in major athletic events. Kenya has however many athletes who are better than the top runners in countries such as the UK but are not good enough to be selected to run in the top races. These athletes cannot afford to travel and so are unable to win prizes at smaller events that would raise vital capital for their communities. One such athlete is Isiah Kosgei whom we are sponsoring to run the Loch Ness Marathon at the end of September. We at the Aberdeen Movement and Running School would like to donate two prizes of a block of 6 one hour running technique sessions. Each would normally cost £280. For each £5 donation your name will be entered into the draw . Multiple donations are allowed. ie £20 gets your name in the hat 4 times. All the proceeds will be donated to The Gathimba Edwards Foundation who run a major charity to help athletes such as Kosgei.
