Story

In 2019 Ben together with a group of students from Ansford Academy will be travelling to Borneo with Camps International.

As part of this trip Ben will be contributing to community development as well as environmental and wildlife conservation initiatives. He will be living and working within the community benefiting from his work, he will be fully immersed in local life.

Whilst we will not know until nearer the time of his trip what community project he will be involved in previous expeditions have helped to dig foundations for a classroom, collecting & clearing rubbish to be re-cycled, building community sports areas, created shaded areas for community gardening as well as planting trees..

All the students taking part in this trip have to raise the funds themselves, as well as the obligatory car boot sales and odd jobs Ben has decided to cycle (exercise bike!) the length of Borneo some 800 miles (according to Encyclopedia Britannica) as well as taking part in other group fundraising activities.

If you would like to sponsor Ben you can do so by donating at this just giving page It is such a worth while cause where a group of English teenagers will spend time helping a community in a less fortunate part of the world.

Photos of his fundraising and the groups activities in Borneo can be seen on facebook and twitter.
