A county the size of Gloucestershire used to 6 women refuge centres, now there is only 1 and it's not because the demand has reduced!!! By foregoing the cost of a Mothering Sunday card and diverting it to the refuge it will provide much needed help to the Women's Refuge Supporters, they raise essential funds to help provide the very 'basics' that these families need immediately on arrival, dish cloths, washing up liquid, washing powders etc certainly nothing frivolous on their list. Supporting about 20 adults and 14 children throughout the year, plus others out in the community they aim to raise £250.000 each year and mostly this is done under the radar. So I ask if you have children who will purchase a Mothering Sunday card for you and you feel it appropriate then maybe ask them to donate here instead in your name, or you may wish to make a donation yourself in the name of your Mother. If you can help that would be great. Your funds will be converted into Tesco vouchers which will be issued to the Gloucestershire Women's Refuge who can then allocate them allowing the individuals to purchase their immediate requirements
