For my daughter's 10th birthday she asked to own her very first brand new mountain bike. Her School had also offered to teach her to pass her cycling proficiency test over a 5 day course, which she did 😁👍🎉.

She & I were over the moon. Until only 2 months later dispite 2 locks, undercover & on my property. It was STOLEN, never to be seen again. Reported to Gosport Police, CCTV reviewed and 6 months later we still have no bike or money to replace it. Originally purchased from Halfords for £149.99 + £ to have it built, serviced & customised with her name decal's.

Broken hearted does not come close. She has earnt & learnt the right to a bit more freedom now she has worked hard to be road safe & to have the independence of being able to ride to & from School. It is a 45+ walk on foot for her without her bike and in this heat at 3pm in the afternoon is hard work.

The bike enabled my girl to swiftly get about and was a great bit of excercise to get her off her mobile phone!!!

I am a single mum to just her, always have been. I work full time, have gained myself a degree 2 years ago. But sadly i am not in the position at the moment to purchase another, even a secondhand one and replace all the lights, stand, bell, locks & chains etc...again either.

I hope to surprise her in time for her 11th Birthday in September ready to start her last year at Junior's.

Any pennies very gratefully recieved for such an amazing kid who's Annual School Report last week was OUTSTANDING & ABOVE & BEYOND EXPECTATIONS!!! WOW. She has worked so very hard academically and always gives 100%. Be lovely to show her recognition for her achievements.
