Story
My son, Charlie, has Down Syndrome and is lucky enough to have been selected to represent his athletics club at the National Special Olympic Games in Sheffield next year. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for these athletes to experience a national competition competing in a sport that they love. In order for them to be able to take part, they need financial support for accommodation and kit.
To help raise some money, the athletes will compete against parents and carers in a Pentathlon (100m, 200m, long jump, shot put and javelin). Charlie has been training hard and is currently beating me in 4 out of the 5 disciplines!! The Pentathlon will take place at 6pm on 4th November at York University and anyone local is more than welcome to come along and cheer us on.
Anything you can donate to support Charlie in having this amazing opportunity would be hugely appreciated by us both. Thank you!!
