Minnie and I are now out in India working at the Sambhali Trust! Sambhali is a non-profit charitable organisation that focuses on the development and empowerment of women and girls in Rajasthan. These women and young girls experience discrimination on a daily basis because of their low status in class, caste and gender, and have little or no access to an education. Sambhali provides these underprivileged girls with an education in Hindi, English and Maths, and runs workshops to build their confidence and self esteem.

Sambhali provides lots of young girls and women with an education but really needs help sponsoring the children staying in the boarding homes, where children from the poorest families stay. They are provided with a place to stay close to school, three meals a day and an education.

Pavarti's family cannot afford to pay for her education or for her to stay in the girls boarding home. To sponsor a child it costs around £250 for a whole year and £1250 for 5 years. So we are trying to raise £500 so that two children can go to school and have an education. Many families in Jodhpur live out in the surrounding villages where there are no schools and they cannot afford to send their child into Jodhpur to school everyday, let alone pay the school fees.
