Story

On the 12th May, myself and Macauley are running the Rob Burrow Leeds Marathon in support of Team Lewis, an amazing group of people coming together to raise funds for Alder Hey children’s hospital and Headlines.

Both charities are particularly close to our hearts as our little friend Lewis Connett was born with Apert Syndrome - a rare genetic condition that causes his bones to fuse together. Lewis has already undergone around 18 major surgeries, including skull reconstruction.

Headlines is a small independent UK charity, which raises money to support families impacted by craniosynostosis and associated conditions. Headlines also strives to build awareness to increase public understanding of the conditions. More information about Headlines can be found on their website: https://www.headlines.org.uk/

And well, Alder Hey is simply “The Land of Remarkable People”. Providing care for 330,000 children, young people and their families. The hospital’s charitable arm helps to fund state-of-the-art equipment and a range of activities and projects that are designed to enhance and improve the lives of amazing young patients when they are being treated.

Thank you for taking the time to visit our page, read Lewis’ story and donating to our cause!
