Story

This is not a start up; it is an existing project and has well trained staff and management team. The Erema Palm Oil project is an economic interventionist program of the Government of Rivers State, meant for the rapid development of the people and entrepreneurs of the state. This is referred to as “Accelerated Development Oil Palm Initiative”. Hence of such initiative, Rivers State being one of the states in the Niger-Delta geopolitical Zones has a comparative advantage of establishing Oil Palm projects at commercial scale. This ultimately is responsible for the production of palm oil for which the state is known.

In response to the yearnings of the people, the state government imported mills to accelerate the production of palm oil in order to create Job opportunities and encourage legal wealth acquisition. The capacity of the mill which is 700kg/hr suggests a small scale but money spinning project.

The strategy is to purchase Dura bunches of fresh palm fruits directly from farmers and process. This initiative could also encourage farmers to grow more palm trees; hence a wealth creation chain is established.

Once in operation, the project would provide a minimum of 18 sustainable jobs to Nigerians from the onset and ultimately contributing to a boost in Gross Domestic Product (GDP). To some extent, it would act as a check to the importation of palm oil. Hence about 360,000 liters of palm oil could be produced per annum. The mill (plant) has all the parts intact but for the generator and tool box which need replacement.

From the capacity utilization, the mill could produce about 1,500 liters of fresh palm oil daily
