    Story

Mad Wasp Radio is a new Internet Radio Station aimed primarily, but not exclusively, at the 35+ age group.

Our musical focus is an alternative to the mainstream – but still covering a host of genres from punk to soul and from rock to house and pretty much everything in between – and with plenty of recognisable songs from past decades.

As well as catering for your aural pleasure, we also want to make you smile and will be introducing a healthy smattering of comedy and laughter to the proceedings.

Our vision is to engage and interact with our listeners to create a vibrant and successful radio station.

We are not a community station as such but we do want to create our own worldwide community of like-minded souls, listening to, and interacting with, our shows and presenters. We also want to give a chance for new and young DJs and comedy talent to be heard on air.

However, we are not rich people (and are even poorer since we started this!) so we desperately need the assistance of generous types to help fund our start up. We should perhaps point out his is not to fund our annual trip to Bridlington (we have cancelled it) but to help pay for the following:

    • PRS and PPL Licences
    • Dedicated servers and hosting software
    • Website and domain hosting
    • Computer software and a little bit of hardware
    • Fundraising consultancy

Our initial aim is to have a test-transmission weekend, running from 30th June to 2nd July. Then, once technical issues and feedback have been assessed, we plan to begin broadcasting within the next few weeks.

Once up and running, we will be looking for small donations from listeners to help keep us going along with some programme sponsorship.

But none of of this can happen without your help in getting us started, so please, please try to help us realise our vision and get Mad Wasp off the ground.

    Many thanks!
