I firstly cannot even believe I am writing this, and have been given this opportunity by the wonderful team at GVI - thank you for giving me the chance to take part in such an incredible expedition, allowing me to achieve goals that I have had in my back pocket forever. For the longest time, I've wondered how I can make a change in the world and have continuously said to my parents "I am going to change the world, I know I am". I don't need to be famous, a hero, be recognised - but I just needed to know that when I look back on my life I made a difference. This expedition allows me to do this, but I can only do this with the help and support of donations, and fundraising enough money to get me there. All being well and fundraising complete, I am so excited to say that on the 26th of June 2021, I will be taking part in a 4-week women's empowerment expedition where I will teach English and business skills to the women of Puerto Morelos in Mexico, so they can take advantage of the growing tourism in their community. Along with this, I will assist with cultivation, planting and harvesting to help the hunger issues in this deprived town. I have dedicated the last few months of my life to raise awareness of inequality and the need for change, and it would mean the world to me to be successful in my fundraising and not let down the people of Puerto Morelos who need social change - a place where I know my skills and experience can help. I will, and forever be, grateful for any way at all that you can help me on this journey and I promise to thank each and every one of you for making a change in someone's life, as that's what your donations will do.
