I've raised £9000 to Help fund Kishangarh Primary School and Tuition Centre in New Delhi, India.

Last December I embarked on a 2 month trip around India. I couldn’t quite believe the impact volunteering would have on me but it certainly did. Near the end of my trip I volunteered at the heart warming Sarmarpan Foundation at the Kishangarh Primary School and Tuition Centre.
The students come from an urban slum with very poor living conditions where, because basic survival is the order of the day, education had taken a back seat. The school serves as a stepping-stone between survival for daily existence and the formal education system. Because the Indian education system goes by age rather than academic level, a lot of kids were struggling at school so Kishangarh works to get students to a level they need to be in order to help students succeed.
By creating an environment of togetherness with fun and games, learning, love, nutrition and hygiene, they have endeared themselves to the children, their families and the community.
