Story
Ten years ago aged 4 Maddie was diagnosed with ALL Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia. Her treatment was a long and very bumpy road and during this time Maddie and us as a family, were supported and nurtured by the amazing team at the William Harvey Hospital in Ashford Kent. Without this team of oncology consultants, nurses, play specialists, cooks and cleaners our journey could have had a very different outcome. It has always been important to us as a family to support the childrens ward however we can. Maddie came through her journey and is now in remission and thriving. She has many physical and mental mountains still to climb every day and has challenges to face daily but her grit and pure determination to overcome absolute everything makes us so proud. With this determination and drive to push herself to constant new limits, Maddie has come up with the idea of walking from coast to coast, following the path of Hadrians Wall, a total of 86 miles. She is going to attempt this from Friday 8th July ,walking for 6 days accompanied by her dad. Her aim is to raise funds for Padua the childrens ward at the William Harvey hospital in Ashford.
We are so thankful to have our beautiful Maddie and the amazing NHS and this is her way of giving something back and thanking them, your support as always is much appreciated and please feel free to share far and wide.
