I've raised £1000 to help Team Ben Hammond fund local heart screening.

On the 12th October I will be running the 'Kent Downs 50km challenge', which takes place along the pilgrims way in the Aylesford and Maidstone area. This is to raise money for 'Team Ben Hammond', who raise money for local heart screening.
In 2017, my cousin Ben Hammond, who was only 15 at the time, passed away to an undiagnosed heart condition, despite being fit and healthy. His parents, Steve and Sheralyn formed 'Team Ben Hammond', a fundraising group who work with CRY (Cardiac Risk in the Young) to raise money for local heart screening to detect undiagnosed heart conditions. Since formed, they have raised over £140,000 and screened 1600 young people. This takes place at local schools, for 14-35 year olds. A screening day costs £6000 and 100 people can be screened per day. CRY also carry out research and bereavement support, and their screening days take place across the country. This is a cause that is extremely close to my heart, and I hope to raise lots to support Team Ben Hammond.
