Story

Made-Well is a not for profit community interest company, based at West Fishleigh Farm in Hatherleigh. The service provides a range of constructive, purposeful and positive ‘day opportunities’ for people with learning disabilities, physical disabilities and mental ill health diagnosis. We also have facilities and events open to the public including; cafe, annual events, play area, animals, gardens, meat, vegetables, plants and gifts for sale.

Made-Well would like to become accessible to all by installing a 'Changing Places' toilet. Without this type of toliet some people dont want to risk going out in case they cant hold on leading to the person becoming discriminated against and isolated. These toilets provide a ceiling hoist and adult sized changing table and are needed for not only individuals but their family and carers too. They are priceless to many people with profound and multiple learning disabilites, bowel problems, autism etc...

Any one of us could need one of these toilets one day...

The reality for those who need the toilets is they are disabled by society when accessing places where the toilets are not installed. Made-Well would like to remove that barrier and be fully inclusive. Not only will people benefit from getting out and about, they will meet new people, increase confidence and self esteem, progess towards more independence, improve health and well-being, life skills and so much more...

Help us to make a real difference and respond to the needs of people in our community...
