Experts say that around 12 young people die each week from previously undiagnosed heart conditions.

My friend recently lost his 16yr old son following a sudden cardiac arrest and he told me about Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY) a charity that carries out subsidised screening sessions which can identify many of the conditions that can cause sudden cardiac death. Conditions like cardiomyopathies can be detected which nearly killed the footballer Fabrice Muamba and, closer to home and my heart, did cause the death of a very dear friend of mine this year.

We are raising funds so that we can carry out a heart screening session at our local high school on Wednesday 18th July 2018 for our young people.
