Story

No matter what you're trying to accomplish, I've always thought you can do it best with shared thinking. When you face a difficult challenge or troublesome problem, then inviting others to share their ideas is definitely the best course of action. So here it is.....

I need the help of some good thinkers. People who can add value and donate not only money, but also ideas and expertise.

By mid 2018 a young man had used every penny he had earned to support his family and send them to school. He felt excited that they were getting an education, which had always been his driving goal. As a youngster he and his brother walked many miles each way to school in order to start his education. He had left home for good, to find a better life and support himself early in life working at gardening and chores for other people. He married and had children and seemed to be coping financially. He had a job at a fine educational establishment and was valued. His desire to let his own children continue their education drove him to work hard and achieve this goal. He wanted to do a great job to help his family.

Have you ever known anything more beautiful than that goal?

However, his hopes for his children's education have recently been dashed. Even though he had displayed honesty and loyalty to the establishment where he worked, they decided to employ a company, as it was now financially cheaper. By all accounts he had excelled in his job, but his place of work has now turned him away.

So what is the next step? If you cannot offer money or position, then do you have ideas for what he could do in a county that has over 90% of its workforce out of work. He can drive, but has no car. Ride a motor-bike, but has no vehicle. There are no jobs despite excellent references. He has certificates in gardening, housework, basic electrics from the polytechnic. He can read and write well. Hard, hard work has never been a problem for him.

What counts really in anyone's life is service. I believe it's the best measure of success. Alex has always gone above and beyond to do more than what is required. I would ask that you try to give a little of whatever you can to help him keep his family together and following their dreams. You can make a difference. When you make a contribution to others, you really begin to live. Please help this family, even though all you can receive in return is thanks and the knowledge that his children will have a better quality of life.
